My beauty favourites from 2013

Hey everyone,

This is my second blog post of the day and of the year!

I've discovered so many amazing beauty products this year and it was so hard to choose my favourites but I think I have narrowed it down to 5.

These products have become essentials in my life and I couldn't live without them, or more like my skin couldn't live without them.

Boots Botanics Cleansing Balm: This is such a skin must have for me because it takes off all my make up and gets deep into my pores. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and moisturised after using it. I love using this in the morning because it wakes my skin up and wakes me up because I'm never good at getting up in the morning! I was quite skeptical about using a cleansing balm because I thought it would leave my skin greasy but it doesn't and because I have oily skin anyway, it takes that shine away from it and leaves it feel refreshed. The nourishing rosehip leaves my skin feeling relaxed so it's perfect to use after a stressful day and I usually use it before I have a shower or bath. I will defiantly be using this again and it doesn't break the bank as it cost me £6.99. You can check out my full review of it here.

MAC Powder Blush: Trace Gold: I only got this product for Christmas but already I can't live without it. It's the best blusher I have ever used because it doesn't leave my cheeks looking orange like some bronzers do. I like to think it leaves my skin with a sun kissed glow and I don't need to keep touching up. The good thing about this is I only need to apply a little bit to a blusher brush and it adds enough colour to my cheeks. There were lots of different shades to choose from which included pinks, darker browns and golds. I chose the gold because I love that sun kissed glow that makes me look I have just come back from holiday and I feel that pinks make me look like I've been sun burned; it just doesn't work with my skin. I got this from the MAC store and it cost £18.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish: I know I have already chosen a cleanser but I couldn't choose between the 2 so I thought I would pick them both. I have heard so many great reviews about this cleanser so I thought I would try it for myself and I'm so glad I did. This has to be one of the BEST cleansers I have ever used because it leaves my skin feeling moisturised and refreshed; I'm in love. I'm 17 and I have oily skin which means my skin attracts spots which I hate, like most people but this cleanser really helped to get rid of my spots. I saw results within about a week and my skin looked more fresh and it reduced my spots. I'm not surprised that this product has won so many awards and is featured in some of the top magazines like Vogue and Elle. I really recommend this to anyone really but from my experience, if you are a teenager or suffer from oily skin you really need to try this. I got this from John Lewis but it is available in lots of department stores and in the Liz Earle stores.

The Body Shop: Body Butter: Vanilla Bliss: This has to my FAVOURITE body moisturiser ever and the fact that it's vanilla flavoured makes it even better. I've always loved the Body Shop Body Butters because they are so rich and leave my skin feeling soft and smooth. I love this in the summer time especially on my legs because they get so dry from the sun and from where I shave them a lot. I use this all year round and I can't get enough; even my mum is addicted. There are countless flavours from fruity to flower so it will suit any taste. These can be used on sensitive skin to dry skin so it doesn't matter what skin type you are. You don't need a lot of the body butter as it's so rich and a little goes a long way; trust me. I've tried using a huge dollop of it before and it was too much as it left my skin feeling greasy so only use a little bit. I got this in the sales so it cost me £5 but it usually retails at £13 for a 200 ml size.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation C3.5: I've been loving MAC products this year and this foundation is my favourite I've ever used for many different reasons. The foundation doesn't leave my skin with my high shine like some products do which I'm thankful for meaning I don't have to use a powder on top of it. It leaves my skin with an even colour and conceals my breakouts and dark circles really well meaning I don't have to use so much concealer. It lasts a long time as well which means I don't have to top up throughout the day which I'm happy about because I hate carrying around loads of make up. I went for C3.5 (I know random numbers) and this is a little bit darker than my natural skin tone as I have a pale face and I like to add a little bit more colour to it so it matches the rest of my body. I only need a little bit to cover each section from my face which is goods as the product will last longer and I won't have to keep buying more. I bought this from the MAC store for £21.50.

That's my top beauty favourites from 2013.
