How to stay in shape whilst on holiday

Hey everyone,

I have become very health aware and a bit of a fitness freak so going on holiday I wanted to stay in the best shape possible. I know 2 weeks isn't going to make much of a difference but I wanted to try and get some sort of workout in whilst I was away. I thought I would share some of my tips for stay away whilst on vacation (how very American of me).

Cardio: Skipping 

Now as we all know cardio is a very important part of a workout and whilst away we don't have much equipment to do this. However I took a skipping rope away with me which didn't weigh a lot and I tried to do 10 minutes of skipping a day; 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening (in my case just before I went out). Skipping is amazing anyway because it is high intense cardio and burns a lot of calories and it's great to do at home when you don't have much time for a workout.



Squats: 

This something I do everyday anyways but I tried to do 50 squats in the morning when I woke up so my booty stayed nice and toned. I mean I was going to be wearing a bikini for 2 weeks so I wanted to look as good as possible. Obviously you can do as many or as little squats as possible; as much as your body can handle.



ABS:

So my abs is the area where I am most conscious about especially when I'm on holiday because I like to wear little crop tops and figure hugging dresses so I want my stomach to be as toned as possible. I did a series of different crunches and did 20 reps of each exercise and I tried to do that every single day.

Drink lots of water:

When your in a hot country staying hydrated is an essential because we don't want to feel faint. However drinking lots of water everyday is also important because it washes away all the toxins in the body and it also helps to increase your metabolism meaning your burn more calories. I find water helps my skin stay clear and healthy meaning it helps get rid of my spots.

  1. Great tips! i think working out on holiday is great as it's when you're most likely to have more of your body on show. It definitely makes me feel less self conscious anyway!
