Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

Hey everyone,

Sadly today's post is a disappointing one *sob*. I hate doing posts that aren't positive but I did promise you that I would be honest with everything I write about.

The Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation is something I thought I would LOVE but it was the complete opposite. I've never had a bad product with Rimmel but I just couldn't seem to get on with this one. I have oily skin (as I've mentioned about a million times) but I always try things that are going to prevent that. The reviews I've heard about this were all positive but I don't know why I didn't like it.

Available from Boots {£5.99}

The product is a moose like texture which I didn't expect so as you can imagine it's quite a thick consistency. I tried applying this with a brush but it wasn't blending in properly so I resulted with my fingers which I don't like doing because it makes my skin oilier. When it was applied to my skin it felt very heavy which I hate and I found it hard to apply my other products. Throughout the day I found my skin was going a bit cakey from where the product was sticking to my dry patches. I also found that my skin was breaking out with more spots which I don't know if it was down to the foundation or if it's my skin changing.

Sadly I wasn't impressed with this but you might find different with this.

Have you tried the Stay Matte Foundation?

  1. I agree with you. Rimmel foundations cause me breakouts and leave my skin really dry,
    I use a Nivea cream to soften my skin after I have used it.
    Maybe using a primer beforehand would help?
