Luxury Weekend in Windsor

Hello everyone,

Travelling is high on my agenda in 2017 and I especially want to see a lot of this beautiful country too. My first trip of 2017 was to Windsor, a town I am very familiar with and one that is right on my doorstep. My family and I decided to have a weekend break to take the January blues away (even though we are in February already).

I love staying in luxury hotels especially if they are in the middle of the countryside where you are away from the hustle and bustle of life. We stayed in the De Vere Hotel which is located in Old Windsor so just on the outskirts of the town. I've been to this chain of hotel before in Oxford and it really felt like I was in a stately home. This hotel however was a bit different as it was much larger and the land was much more vast. It was honestly like I was staying on a massive estate and there was all different entrances to the hotel.

Inside the hotel was very modern and nothing like to other De Vere hotel I had stayed in. The hotel felt more of for conferences and large events than for a weekend break away. My room however was lovely and had everything you would expect to have and need for the weekend. The one thing that is a necessity is a bath tub, there is nothing better than having a hot bath and a glass of wine before you start to get all glammed up for the evening. The bed was super comfy and I can safely say I  had such a lovely night sleep. The duvet was so thick and I mean in this weather I'm not complaining but in the middle of the night I did break a sweat just a little bit! Now there was a Leisure Club which had a swimming pool and Gym but the cold weather really did put me off so I thought I would give the exercise a miss.

Windsor itself is beautiful and if any of you have been then your know what a little quaint and picturesque the town really is. Saturday evening we spent in the town and went for a few drinks in some cute little pubs just off of the town centre. Dinner was something we couldn't decide on so we decided to go to one of my favourites Bills which serve the most amazing burgers. I thought I would bring a little summer into my life and order one of my all time favourite drinks which is a Peach Bellini. I was actually in bed super early (well for a Saturday night anyways). I think having been such a long day I was exhausted and just needed a well deserved long sleep.

The one major part of my weekend I nearly forgot to mention is I went to one of my favourites places, Bicester Village. Now if you've never heard of this land of dreams then it's an amazing designer outlet featuring some of my favourite shops that in reality I couldn't afford at full price. I picked up my all time favourite foundation; The Estee Lauder Double Wear for £21.00. I know I said it, I mean that's cheaper than Duty Free! I also picked up a gorgeous diffuser from The White Company, a place where I don't normally shop because the prices are usually quite high.

The weekend was super jammed pack with lots of spending but can say I do feel very much refreshed and I can't to see where 2017 takes me on my travels.

Have you been to Windsor? What places in the UK do you recommend?
