Travel Make Up Bag Essentials

Hello loves,

Now you might know from all my content on Instagram that I went to Amsterdam and we could only take hand luggage so my make up bag was very limited. I'm going to share with you exactly what is in my make up for when I travel lightly and I hope this gives you some inspiration on tips on exactly what to take on your travels.

The Base:If I have the perfect base then nothing else really matters. When I'm away I like to go for two different looks; natural and a more glam look. For the base during I day I usually go quite natural and I love to use the Garnier BB Cream which I also featured in my Summer Beauty Essentials. This just adds a little bit of colour and coverage to the skin. I tend to stay away from concealer but if I'm having a bad skin day then I will pop on a bit of the Benefit Bo-ing to add a little bit more coverage.

When I'm going for a more glam finish then I used the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. This adds that little bit more coverage to my skin and gives a more flawless finish. When I want to add a little bit more colour then I will reach for my Solar Powder Bronzer from Soap and Glory to sweep across my face.

Eyes and Eyebrows:I'm not one to spend ages on my eyes brows so I just filled them in with my trusted L'Oreal Brow Expert pencil to give them some definition and shape.

Moving onto the eyes I used my favourite palette from Primark; The Gold Rush Eye Shadow Palette. I like the gorgeous shimmery shades to add a golden glow to the eyes. I did also feature this in my Primark Favourites post a few months ago. I used a few different shades depending on the outfit I was wearing. For the mascara I found a travel sample size of the Lancome Hypnose which gave gorgeous volume and length to my lashes.

Contour: I took my favourite Rimmel by Kate contour palette to add some definition to my face. I used the bronzer, highlight and blush to give my face a little bit of shape. It's the perfect combo for giving that gorgeous glow to the skin.

Lips:Now I originally packed my Nars lipstick but of course I purchased a new lipstick at Duty Free so that was the one I wore all weekend. I've forever wanted to pick up one of the beautiful YSL lipsticks so I purchased the Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Pink Confidence (Number 8). It's the perfect pinky nude shade that goes with any outfit.

I hope this has given you some inspiration on what to take on your travels.

  1. I love the fit me foundation and solar powder is one of my all time faves! Dependant on where I'm travelling definitely determines what makeup I'll take as normally if it's to a hot country I won't bother only a bit of concealer and powder will do me
