Malteser Tray Bake







Hello lovelies,

I am trying to get back into baking and to try new recipes. Malteser's happen to be Josh's favourite so as a New Years treat I thought I would make an attempt at a tray bake.The fact it didn't include any cooking time apart from a little bit on the hob it looked too good to miss!

Ingredients:
100g Butter
200g Digestive Biscuits (I didn't use the whole amount)
200g Milk Chocolate
225g Maltesers (leave about 10-15 maltesers to add on top)
2tbsp Golden Syrup

Method:


  1.  Melt the butter, chocolate and golden syrup in a low heat pan. Be careful not too over cook the chocolate it doesn't take that long to melt. I melted the butter first then the chocolate and syrup.
  2. Crush the digestives and maltesers and add them to the mixture. I crushed the biscuits with a rolling pin in a food bag but you can use a food processor if preffered. 
  3. Line a baking tin with grease proof paper then add the mixture to the tin.
  4. Add the left over maltesers to the top of the mixture making sure they are pressed in firmly.
  5. Once the mixture has been added cover with cling film or tin foil and place in the fridge to chill and set. I left the mixture in the fridge for about 2 hours. 
  6. Once the mixture is solid cut the tray bake into squares, serve and ENJOY!
It really did taste delicious if I say so myself. I kept the tray bake in the fridge to keep it fresh. If you do decide to make this recipe then please do let me know!
